It is the amount of Boron in the gemstone that creates the specific deep blue coloration hue on blue diamond. What is Boron? Briefly I am sure you still remember that Boron is one of the known chemical elements.

It reflects blue wavelength of a light spectrum. The higher amount of concentration of Boron in a Blue Diamond is then the more blue color we will see. Some diamonds have a such very rare characteristic of blue color. So they become legends in the world.
